Empowering teens to see the needs around them, serve with dignity, and step forward with purpose through community action, leadership, and meaningful service.
Project One Giant Step was born from lived experience and a simple realization: young people and families facing instability need more than temporary assistance. They need to be seen, their dignity protected, and meaningful pathways forward.
What began through practical acts of service, including backpacks, essential resources, school partnerships, and community outreach, grew into a larger assignment. POGS exists to help teens recognize the needs around them, respond through meaningful service, develop as leaders, and discover the power of taking one purposeful step at a time.
Today, POGS is growing into a teen-led movement where compassion becomes action, service develops leadership, and young people are equipped to help move individuals and communities from survival to stability to purpose.

Learn to see people, needs, and circumstances that are too often overlooked. POGS teaches teens to lead with awareness, compassion, and respect for the dignity of others.

Move beyond simply noticing a need. Through outreach, school partnerships, community projects, and practical service, teens discover how their actions can make a meaningful difference.

Every act of service can become a step toward leadership, responsibility, and purpose. POGS equips teens to use their voice, abilities, and experiences to help strengthen their communities.
Purpose becomes powerful when it moves beyond words. POGS turns awareness into practical action through service, partnership, and youth engagement.

Meeting Real Needs
From backpacks and school supplies to hygiene and care resources, POGS responds to practical needs that can create real barriers for young people and families. We serve in ways that protect dignity while helping individuals take their next step forward.

Building Partnerships That Matter
POGS works through relationships with schools, families, community partners, and local organizations to identify needs and create meaningful opportunities for service, support, mentoring, and youth engagement.
POGS helps teens move beyond simply participating in service. Through awareness, action and leadership, young people are equipped to recognize needs, respond with purpose and take meaningful steps forward.

POGS is committed to creating environments where young people can participate, serve and develop with dignity, appropriate supervision and clear safeguards. Our ministry practices are guided by NMFC's standards for the protection, care and responsible engagement of minors.
POGS has always been shaped by young people taking meaningful action. Kyra grew up serving through Project One Giant Step, participating in community outreach, preparing and delivering resources, supporting school initiatives, and helping carry the mission from an early age.
Today, that history is becoming a new chapter as POGS develops into a teen-centered ministry designed to equip young people not only to serve, but to lead. The next generation is stepping forward with its own voice, creativity, responsibility, and vision for the communities it will impact.
